Session Info

Thank you for booking with Tot Shots.  To complete the booking process, please submit your completed portrait contract and pay the invoice forwarded to you from Paypal.  If you would prefer to use an alternate means of payment, please call me at 403-701-0106.  If the session fee and completed portrait contract are not received within 5 days, your date will be released.

CONSULTATION

A week prior to our scheduled session, I will send an email to plan the details – confirming location, what your are wearing, ideas,…  If you need any assistance or have any questions prior to that, please do not hesitate to call or email.

WHAT TO WEAR

A lot of people worry about what to wear…please don’t:).  The most important thing when planning outfits is that everyone is comfortable and in coordinated tones (either light or dark).  This does not mean that you have to match exactly though.  The website and blog include a variety of ideas of what other families have chosen.  We encourage you to go through these galleries if you are unsure about outfits and see if there is a style that is similar to your own, something that works well with your colouring and something that you are comfortable in.  White is one of the most difficult colours to photograph due to exposure.  I recommend steering away  from it for location sessions.  If you would like assistance with outfit choices, please feel free to send pictures of your choices to me.  I am happy to help.

If one of the outfits has a pattern, you should plan the rest of your outfits around this.  For example, if your daughter has a pink and brown check dress, this should be where your colour palette stems from.  She will be the focus in this dress as it has the most amount of pattern.  Everyone else could then be coordinated in solid tones from the dress.

ILLNESS

If your child is not feeling well, please let me know via email or phone call as soon as this becomes apparent.  A runny nose is fine, I would just ask that you ensure that their nose is clean upon arrival and bring lots of Kleenex.  Many parents get concerned when their child gets a blemish, scratch or bruise prior to the session.  Don’t worry as I am able to edit out many of these types of marks.  Please let me know at the time of the session.

WEATHER

If you have a location session scheduled and the weather is not looking favourable, I will contact you the morning of the session to discuss.

STYLE

Sessions are relaxed in order to capture the personalities of your children and the relationships that you have with them. We will begin the session with “posed” family shots, proceeding with pictures of the children with each parent and then will capture the more “candid”, fun shots of your children (separate and together if there are more than one).  If you have specific ideas or things that you would like captured, please let me know prior to the session or at the beginning of the session so that I can work it into the timeline best.

I have found that by talking to the children, singing favourite songs and sometimes just being silly, I am able to get excellent results.  Any information about the children’s interests that you can provide me with prior to the session is much appreciated.  The most important thing is that the parents are relaxed.  The children (even newborns) sense this.  Come and have fun and leave the rest to me.  I will let you know if I need your help through the session.

SESSION LENGTH

Sessions are typically an hour to an hour and a half.  Newborn sessions typically last 2 hours.  I do not have a set amount of time for a session as I do not want to rush through a session.  We have enough time to ensure your family is relaxed and having fun so we get the best results.

Although we realize that it can be very difficult to get everyone ready and out the door on time, please try to arrive at the scheduled time as we cannot cut into the client’s time that may be following yours.  If you are more than 15 minutes late for a session, your session is at risk of being cancelled.

For a location session, I will be at the location 15-20 minutes in advance to test light and scout locations.  I advise that you provide me with a cell phone number and you have my number with you (403-701-0106), in case it is required.

GALLERY

Approximately 2 weeks after the session you will receive a preview slideshow with some of my favourite shots for you to share with friends and family. Then a couple of days after you will receive a link to your complete, private online gallery.  Here you will be given your password for the gallery and the date of expiration for your gallery.

Client satisfaction is of the utmost importance. If you are not happy with the images in your gallery, you will receive a refund or I will schedule a reshoot.  However, if this is the case and you are NOT satisfied, you must inform the studio within 48 hours of receiving your gallery to receive a refund or schedule a re-shoot. The images from the original session will not be available for purchase.

ORDERING

Each client’s session is scheduled such that we can allocate time during your two week order period to answer questions and assist with wall art.  The Pricing Guide will describe and illustrate a variety of the products.

I take a limited number of sessions each month in order to give every client exceptional service so please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. If you require extra time, please contact the studio before your gallery expires to have your gallery extended for one week.  If your website expires, a fee of $50 will be applied for a repost for a week.

Complimentary order consultations are available so that I can review your gallery with you and help you choose art for your home or ideas for display.  These meetings are big part of my service as it allows me to hear which images you like and then I can recommend the best way to display or use them image.  I have selected top quality and unique vendors that display my art in a manner that compliments my style of photography.

Tot Shots works with a custom framer and offers a number of contemporary frame choices to best compliment your home.  If you are interested in this service, I will work with you to choose the mat and frame that best compliments your pieces.  I use the highest quality products to increase the life of your prints.  As a standard, UV protected anti-glare glass is used in our frames.

Pricing outlined within your gallery will only be guaranteed for 30 days after your session.

DVDs and small print orders take approximately 2 weeks to process. Wall Art and Specialty items can take 4-6 weeks to process.  You will be notified when your prints are ready and, at that time, you will be provided with alternative times to have your order delivered or to pick up from the studio.

EDITS

If further editing is required beyond what you see your gallery, please let us know at the time of order. Edits may be subject to additional charges but we will let you know prior to beginning any editing.

PAYMENT

An invoice including specialty items, discounts, and taxes will be emailed to you within 24 hours of receiving your online order. Payment must be arranged before your order will be processed and can be made by cash or major credit card (VISA, Mastercard and American Express are accepted). Payment plans are available for large orders if required.

ARCHIVING

The images that you order will be saved for a period of one year.  You are welcome at anytime over the year to place subsequent orders (there is not a minimum purchase amount after the initial order).

Emails will be sent before images are purged.
