new life | Calgary Newborn Photographer04.16.13

I am so honoured that I get to capture new life as I do and the love surrounding it.  Working with this couple and watching them relax in front of my camera to truly capture them has been fantastic.  Thank you!

so many things | Calgary Family Photographer02.06.13

There are so many things about this session that I loved!  I have had the opportunity to work with this family 12 or 13 times over the last five years as I have captured their girls for them.  It is always a highly anticipated session for me as they are fantastic to work with.  This was the photo session marking the little one’s 2nd birthday.  This has always been a favourite age for me.  The little one’s are coming into their “big kid” look rather than baby but they still don’t have the emotional stability of a big kid.  This usually results in a full meltdown and within a few frames they are laughing.  Love it!  This session was no different.  She had a full meltdown – head thrown back and then hands over eyes.  I kept those in the gallery for the parents.  They can use those at a later date:).  I did not include them here as I had a bunch of other favourites.  I loved their outfits – the colour with their skin tone as well as the flow of the dresses.  The older daughter dances so we had to capture a bit of that.  Thank you H family for allowing me to capture your family!

2012 | Calgary Family Photographer11.09.12

I am way behind on blogging and not going to get caught up on that for a few weeks as I am in the throes of busy season.  I just wanted to let you know that 2012 is officially booked up.  I have booked all of the spots for client sessions and have taken on a couple of commercial projects through the end of the year so will not be able to take any additional 2012 clients.  I am already booking into 2013 so please let me know if you are considering a portrait session in the new year.

Here is one from a recent session with this adorable 3 month old!  Love her excitement as she sees her dad bend over her:)  Love this age!

I promise to share more of the client sessions from the fall/winter soon as well as some of the fun new products that I have been working on with clients!

Planner | Calgary Family Photographer11.05.12

My husband is a planner…he is one of those people that can plan hair appointments for an entire year in advance.  I am not typically like this.  I like to call my hair stylist when my hair is getting unruly and get in either that week or the next.  Well, life has changed a bit, I have to book things in advance a lot more as I am only back in Calgary for a few days a month typically and so I have had to plan most of my trips and have sessions in place…which has made my clients have to be a bit more like this too.  I want to thank many of you that have booked me so far in advance to ensure that you get a session with me.  I appreciate your “plan-in-advanceness”.  I do also recognize that things change, hockey schedules come out and children get sick.  I have (and always will) leave time in my schedule for shuffle and reschedules.  There was some juggling during the 11 days I was in Calgary in September and I was left with two open spots for the second weekend.  I sent a note out to a bunch of clients that I thought might want a session (and are more like me…last minute) and booked up right away.  This is one of the families that jumped on a last minute spot.  I have shot them many times over the years and was so happy that I was going to be able to see them again this year.  Their children are getting so big.  I LOVED the way these two siblings got along…although there was a bit of pretending that they did not want a hug from the other, the way they interact and lean their heads into each other tells how close they really are:).   F family it was fantastic to see you and I am so glad that we were able to make this work!
