Peek08.19.14

I was so honored when this client contacted me to let me know that they would be back from Boston the second week in August and would like me to take pictures of their latest addition.  Although it was not a trip that was originally booked, I was so happy that I was able to make it work.  Aren’t these two adorable!  The hair on both of them was gorgeous!  I know mom has had to be super patient with me trying to get everything out from the last trip so hopefully it was worth the wait:).  Their two year old was being a two year old which I know can make parents worry about what we are getting.  Apparently I forgot to tell them it is one of my favourite ages and they should not worry:).  Although sitting is not what this age wants to do, playing definitely is and we can get some great real smiles at the age…before they learn “cheese”.  A game of peek-a-boo goes a long way:). C Family, I apologize for the delay in getting a little peek up for you!  Thank you – it was so great to see you again!!

Busy household06.24.14

With three girls 4 and under, you can imagine what a busy household this is and to top it off an impending move.  I was not surprised when I arrived in Canmore for this session that mom was having a nap:).  I got to work with this family 4 years ago when the oldest was born and just prior to them moving overseas.  It was so nice to see them back in Canada again and with additional family members.  One of my favourite shots is of the baby, sucking on mom’s hands with her two sisters looking on…especially how she is looking at her big sister.  K family it was fantastic to see you again.  Your daughters are adorable and I look forward to watching them grow.calgary newborn photographercalgary newborn photographercalgary newborn photographercalgary newborn photographercalgary newborn photographercalgary newborn photographercalgary newborn photographercalgary newborn photographer

Fun at the beach06.20.14

This client was staying in Carlsbad so I did a little location scouting to find a beach that was quiet, still had the cliffs (because I think that they are pretty and visibly appealing), low enough tide to have a beach and had easy access for them with young children.  The spot worked out perfect and they did not have to travel too far from their hotel:).

W family, thank you for including me in your family vacation planning.  I had a blast capturing these memories for you!

Another new fur baby and “Can you get down like that?”06.04.14

When I received the contract back from this family with all of this year’s updated information and they noted that we would be adding pictures to the wall with 8 years of Tot Shots memories.  I love that!  This year, we got to include a new addition to the family…a chocolate lab puppy. The dad may still be cursing me a bit for encouraging them to bring her (I do understand the feeling of your arm being pulled out of it’s socket by a goofy, fun-loving lab) but it was sooooo fun!  F family, it was so great to see you again and meet your new fur baby!

The second part of the title pertains to the picture of the two kids where they just broke into dance right in the middle of the forest.  Made me laugh:).calgary family photographercalgary family photographercalgary family photographercalgary family photographercalgary family photographercalgary family photographercalgary family photographercalgary family photographercalgary family photographercalgary family photographercalgary family photographercalgary family photographer

A few more05.30.14

So a little problem with loving your job is sometimes you get lost in it.  Once I sat down to work on these yesterday, I could not stop:)  So thought that I would post a few more.

As I mentioned this family was a ton of fun and an absolute pleasure to work with.  I learned that the mom has run a bunch of marathons with a time of 3:08.  So as I come up to doing a half this weekend hoping to at least match my time of 2:08 from last year, I am feeling a little slow:).  The whole family is super active which I love to hear.  Even the morning prior to our session they had all been out for a long run, bike, rollerblade and Chariot ride (based on their various degrees of ability).  So great!  Thank you B family for trusting me with your first family portraits.
