Earthquake | Calgary Child Photographer10.03.10

I am thrilled to finally share some images with this family. Last week got away from me and I am still trying to get through galleries and blog posts. This session is from last weekend…it was actually just as those amazing winds came up Sunday afternoon. Flying dust presents a little challenge as you are trying to capture a family’s gorgeous eyes. However, the little guy yelling “Earthquake” made for some great laughs;) More to come soon!Calgary Children Photographer

Daddy's boy | Calgary Family Photographer09.28.10

I have watched this little guy grow over the last couple of years. This year, we had originally planned to do an outdoor session to include the family dog but unfortunately the weather did not cooperate (completely). We moved the session to the studio as it was quite chilly that day. The little guy is quite shy (my son is as well so it is a trait I know well;) and to top it off, during the session, he decided to be daddy’s boy. To the point that he got quite upset when we asked dad to step out to try to get pictures with mom. And as we all know, messing with a 2 year old will get you nowhere. So we moved on and as we were nearing the end of the session, the sun came out. Woohoo…so off to the park we went. This little guy LOVES to be outside and was completely in his element allowing us to get some fun pictures and pictures with mom! S and R it was great to see you again. More to come soon!

Fall is in the air | Calgary Family Photographer09.14.10

Or maybe it is winter:(  The leaves have started to turn quickly this year and I am just hoping that they do not disappear as quickly as they did last year!

This was from one of the first sessions capturing the leaves.  I was really excited when I found out that one of the things that this family likes to do is geocaching (treasure hunting within the community).  We headed into Griffith Park in Discovery Ridge on a hunt! FUN! So off we went taking pictures along the way. At one point we stopped to do some shots and an elderly gentleman offered to take the picture so that I could get in. Haha!

We had a blast as they showed me all of the places that they like to hang out.  They even took me to the area where the cougar had be spotted a few weeks ago.  It was a very fun little adventure.  I hope that you enjoy your sneak peek and I will be sure to have more of our adventures out soon.

Ghostwriter | Calgary Family Photographer08.23.10

I am pretty sure that I have mentioned in the past that I have never been a really strong writer…if not, well there it is! Having a blog has definitely forced me to improve my writing skills (at least somewhat…fortunately most people are still here for the pictures though). Anyway, the woman in these pictures is incredibly witty. Although my basis is somewhat limited to Facebook statuses, talks at the park and Tot Shots interactions…I am sure others who know her better would concur. I have even joked that the park about her writing my blog for me. Seriously some days I actually wish that I could hire her as my ghostwriter – although you would know right away;)

They are a lovely family to work with. I have gotten to work with the children a couple of times in the past but this was the first time that I have had the opportunity to work with the whole family. We had a fantastic morning! B&B, I hope that you enjoy your sneak peek and I will have the rest up soon.

Boys, boys, boys! | Calgary/Invermere Photographer08.17.10

I love the energy of a shoot with boys! It may have something to do with the fact that I can’t sit still myself;) This was one of my other shoots from my weekend in Invermere. This family’s cabin offered a gorgeous setting for pictures. We did some trekking through the woods, played tag around the tree house (which escalated to bean your parents with pine cones – thus resulting in the shot with a shovel of sand and pine cones hurling through the air), zoomed some favourite vehicles and enjoyed the lake. Lots of fun!

When I showed up at this shoot the mother and I realized that we had played for the same soccer team last year. She had been referred through another client and we had not made the connection. Such a small world! K, it was great to see you again and to meet your family. Your boys are fantastic to work with!
