9 days old | Calgary Newborn Photographer09.23.09

As promised, here are a few pictures from one of the several newborns that I have shot over the last week. This session was a bit of a treat. It is rare that I get the opportunity to shoot newborns with just their mom and not the whole family. Now don’t get me wrong. I love to have the whole family there and to capture the new addition to the family. This was nice though as the new baby got the attention and his relationship with his mom. We will get the chance to capture the new family unit at some time as well but the focus on the little one was really nice. Oh, and for the record…the girls still got to be “involved”…they are the ones that styled his hair. And as you can see…I liked it!

I had to include this picture of this little guy playing with the back of his head. My son does the same thing…yep, still does…ever since he was this small! Love it!Calgary Newborn Photographer21

Here comes the first of many posts for this week.  This is the second time that I have had the pleasure of working with this family and they have a new addition.  Mr “L” is already 5 months old and a dream to photograph.  Smiley, chubby, drooly and cuddly!  The whole family has amazing blue eyes and gorgeous smiles.  D & T it was great to see you again…your boys are adorable!

Gift | Calgary Child Photographer09.16.09

This fantastic session was a birthday gift to this client’s sister (the girls’ auntie). I have had the great pleasure of working with this family on a number of occasions – maternity, newborn, family, generation shots – we have even done shots with auntie before but we had a new little one to include this time.

With the weather being as nice as it has been lately, we had to do some studio shots and then move outside for a few – catch a little flare! It is neat to see each of the girls’ personalities come out. The older daughter is very poised…she seems to have an old soul. Look at those gorgeous eyes. The middle child has a lot of spirit…do I ever love capturing spirit! And the little one seems very analytical…she just watches and studies everyone. For mom! – Calgary Child and Family Photographer09.10.09

The following pictures are extra special!  These ones are for this mom!  She is my neighbour and although we have only been neighbours for a year, I can already tell you, she is an amazing lady!  She is an amazing mom, with a very smart, thoughtful little boy, she is a super supportive wife (her husband owns Kiwi Irrigation and works hard and does a great job).  Okay, I don’t know what kind of wife she is, I just wanted to make sure that I gave Kiwi a plug;)  All kidding aside, they are an amazing family and great neighbours.  C takes awesome pictures of her husband and son but alas, she is not in any of them!  So it was time for that to change!  This makes me realize it is time to set up the tripod and remote and get shooting my own little monkeys and myself!

We did a little bit of studio work and then went outside where these guys are much more comfortable.  So here are a load of pictures of my fabulous neighbours.  I just have to say that after moving 5 times in 9 years, it is so nice to finally settle in a great community with awesome neighbours!

Made me smile…Calgary Child and Family Photographer09.08.09

I had to come back and share these images as I continued to work through this session.  These made me smile.  These types of pictures are always the images that I am looking for in a session…the real ones…the giggles, the cuddles and the reactions.  Love it!Calgary Child Photographer 8Calgary Child Photographer 9Calgary Child Photographer 10
