New Referral Program07.05.17

Hi Everyone!

I am excited to be moving home soon! I am back taking clients in Calgary as of August 11th. August, September and October are starting to get booked up so if you are considering pictures, please let me know soon.

I would also appreciate, if you could please forward my name to friends and family. I am looking forward to getting back to work and being able to easily accommodate new clients. In conjunction with my move, I have decided to change up my referral program and make it a bit sweeter for you…especially since word of mouth has always been how my business has grown. I would like to thank you with $200 credit towards your next session for each client that you refer (and completes a session) to Tot Shots or Jody Boryski Photography (for a small business brand film) in Calgary.

As well as family photography, I am also pursuing a new venture that I started working on in California creating brand films. I have set up a business that is helping entrepreneurs or charities share their stories to attract their ideal client or donor through video. I have worked with a pilates studio, organic farmers, boutique letterpress printers, jewelers, chiropractors, after-school programs, art and a culinary tour company…the possibilities for these films are endless. As a small business that has been successful due to amazing clients like you, I want to be able to help other local businesses connect with their best clients. Again I would appreciate you passing my name on to your favourite small businesses or charities. I will be offering the same referral bonus of $200 for a successful completion of one of these films that you have referred.

Family photography work will still be under Tot Shots and I have set up a new website for the brand films and commercial work – http://www.jodyboryski.com.

Personal project – video adventures05.30.17

As I mentioned in the previous video, I will be taking a lot of video over the next little while and sharing our adventures of our last few months in California. I have decided to do a course at the same time as the timing syncs up well, offers new ways of doing things and forces me to get these videos done as homework:). The course I am taking is through Xanthe Berkley.

Here is the video “scenes from the weekend” that I did for the first assignment (due last monday…the 22nd)…I am already behind sharing here but will catch up this week with a few posts:). I have also been working on some brand films for clients and will be sharing those here as well. I have thoroughly enjoyed telling stories with video both personal and for businesses.

Andrea Dean Pilates & Movement10.21.16

I was very excited to get the opportunity to work with one of my family portrait clients to help her showcase the launch of her new brand. Over the next couple of weeks she will be rolling out the full launch and website but we put together a little brand film to help her introduce herself and her business. I have gotten to work with Andrea a couple of times with her business and what I love the most is her knowledge of our bodies and particularly those of us that are over 35. When I look for a workout myself these days it is something that helps me be stronger in the rest of my life…so I can keep up with my children (and my clients for that matter;). I want to participate in all of the fun activities that my family likes to do together and not fear that I am going to get hurt. I have watched Andrea’s care for technique and form and I think that is so important when taking on a new activity. I was absolutely impressed and know that there are clients of mine out there that feel the same so wanted to share this here. You can follow Andrea on Instagram at @andreadeanpilates or watch for the launch of her new website on October 31st at andreadeanpilates.com.

Since I have not described these brand films before I should probably do a little intro…this has been an extension of my business that I have been building over the last 6 months. I realized after doing a video class last year (that was really just for personal purposes) how great this avenue would be for small businesses. This allowed me to utilize both my creative skills as well as my education (MBA specializing in small business)/experience and help other entrepreneurs tell/share their stories. More of this work, if you are interested, can be found at jodyboryski.com.

Lovely ladies05.31.16

We have had to reschedule this session a few times and almost had to again. Thank goodness it all worked out and in such a beautiful location. I had not seen this family in a few years so their girls had changed a lot. It was so amazing to see what lovely ladies they are growing up to be. Thank you guys for pressing through a bit of a chilly afternoon…I love the results!

Pilates05.28.15

I have had the pleasure of working with this mom and her family for many years. Andrea been a pilates coach and instructor for a couple of years and needed someone to take some pictures for her website. I have not done pilates yet but have always been intrigued by it as it looks like it would be right up my alley for a fitness routine – strength training, core work and balance building.

I jumped at the chance to help her as I really wanted to see the routine from her. She is detailed and her posture is always amazing so I was pretty certain that she would be an amazing instructor. She did not disappoint – even though we were taking “posed” shots and not going through a work out she walked through it like it was a routine. Describing form and positions for maximum benefit and to avoid injury. I LOVE that!! I have worked out for over 20 years and form has always been what I have noticed through various workouts and instructors. I have left yoga classes where it was downright dangerous. It is imperative to know the ramifications of specific moves and the exact way to do it so that you do avoid injury – particularly as you start to get older in your vintage as some of us are:).

If you are into pilates or are thinking of getting into it, I highly recommend giving Andrea a call.  Her website link is http://www.andreapilates.com/home.html.
