1st Birthday | Calgary Baby Photographer

We did a combination session for this shoot as we wanted to get 1st birthday cake smashing pics as well as a family session. I love how the little guy started off very refined with his spoon and then finally got right into it. After a quick bath, it was time to play outside on one of the windiest days of the year! It all worked out well though and we go some great shots of this very fun family!

I was absolutely amazed at the stamina of these two little ones. A baby and a toddler typically have a “photography endurance” of about an hour…particularly a 9 month old baby who is not feeling particularly well. These little guys were awesome – not a whine or cry, so I kept on shooting…and shooting;) So I got to see all of the tricks and cuddles and had a blast playing in the gorgeous weather! I had to start off with my favourite. Look at that face as she shows me how she can wink! Love it! B and B it was great to meet you! I hope the girls had a big nap for you after;)

So I was able to sneak in one more “fall” shoot this past weekend. It was still a bit chilly but I am so glad that we decided to get outside. This is the fourth year that I have worked with this family. I LOVE watching the children grow. These girls are always a pleasure to work with – they are so sweet. The little one is usually quite shy but was full of stories this time and grabbed my hand as we were walking to our location. The eldest daughter has now lost some teeth and was so proud to show me! A & R thank you for your patronage.

So our Calgary fall weather has been all over the place. Although the following session was suppose to have a backdrop of fall colours, we decided that the sub-zero temperatures was a bit chilly so we moved the session to the studio. It took the 2 year-old a little bit to warm up, however we ended up with some awesome shots (we always do…one of my favourite ages!).

I had to include big brother’s funny face picture…I always take a few of these…mostly because I love the huge smiles that you get after. Okay, I like the funny faces too…when my children do this, it ends up on Christmas cards. Anyway, what I found out when this little guy made this awesome face, it was Grandma that had taught him this one. How cool is that! J and S, it was a pleasure meeting you and I hope you enjoy your sneak peek! J, I hope your mom does too!

Family Fall Fun | Calgary Family Photographer

Fall has been a bit short in Calgary this year with the weather being all over the place…thank goodness we decided to move this session up a week to make sure that we captured the fall colours. At the time my thinking was to avoid a big wind storm that would take all the leaves…little did I know we were going to end up with snow! Hopefully it will not last long and we can squeeze in a bit more fall.

This family is a ton of fun. I have had the opportunity to shoot them a few times. We had not done an outdoor session yet and I am glad that we had the chance this year. It was a great way to capture this active family and include their lab. Thank you for the bushwhacking adventure guys!
