About Jody

Hello and welcome to my blog.  I am a Calgary family photographer specializing in maternity, newborn, baby, children and family portraits.  I offer both studio and location (natural light) options for clients.  My style has been characterized as real.simple.clean.fun and I strive to capture the personalities of your little ones as well as document your family connections.  The centrally located studio showcases beautiful examples of how we can turn these images into fine art pieces to decorate your homes with the ones you love.  Thanks for stopping by and for your feedback!

Little Heart Breakers – Calgary Children Photographer

This is what one of the shirts of this client read.  I get the opportunity to shoot these boys at least once a year and I love watching them change and develop!  I can’t even get over how mature the older boy is starting to look – he was a baby when they began coming to me.  The little guy has just turned one and look at his hair!!!  It was dark when I shot him last!!  I know that mom likes casual pictures and personality (most of my clients do…if you have not picked up on this from my blog) so I knew I that I could be completely silly and really capture highlights of these ages.  Thus there was some “tongue-stickin’-out”, some pretending we were cars racing around or military guys crawling on our bellies, and lots of clapping (the little guy is completely enamoured with his big brother)!!

And all of this was happening despite me “nursing” a rolled ankle.  After over 20 years of being “retired” from soccer, I have decided that this should be an activity that I take on this year.  Unfortunately I have quickly realized how out of shape I am or at least how weak my ankles are!  I am happy to say though that beyond some flinching when the ball came at me, I did almost get a goal!  So with the help of my physio (who BTW is fantastic – Melissa at Panther Sports Medicine in Glenmore Landing) I will be making it through this season.  However, I know that my husband is seriously wishing that I could just follow him and take up golf!  Stayed tuned for more comical mishaps this summer!
