So the end of 2011 was a bit of a blur. Not only did I continue shooting until the 24th of December but my family has temporarily relocated to southern California. My husband had a fantastic opportunity to work for a great company so we “ripped the bandaid off” and made the move over the holidays. Fortunately there is not a lot of “sting” that accompanies a move like this in the middle of winter:). It did, however, add a lot of busy to get everything in order…especially over the holiday season.

All has gone well though and we have made it through the transition relatively unscathed.

What does this mean for Tot Shots? I am maintaining my studio space and will be traveling back monthly to shoot and service my clients. Jess will also still be available to shoot (I will be blogging some of her fall work shortly). I also hired a studio manager in September to help me run the studio during one of the busiest times. Cristina has been an amazing asset to the studio and will be staying on to maintain client care. Although I can do a lot from my office in California, i have always run my business being in front of the client and like to have a friendly face there for you if you need it.

I currently have my first three trips booked for:

- February 2-5

- March 7-12

-April 19-22

The February trip only has one time remaining and March and April have a couple. Please contact me for times.

In addition, I am legally entitled to work in the US and will be available for sessions in southern California. So if you are down here and would like to capture some relaxing vacation time, please let me know:)

Thank you for your continue patronage. I look forward to working with your families in 2012. Now that things are settling I will be going back and sharing more work from the fall. Here is just one of a little guy that made the trip from Edmonton to see me before I left:)

i was very excited to meet this 6 day old little guy. he was giving his mom a tough time that day but did a wonderful job at his debut shoot. look at his amazing eye contact! i have been trying to hurry to get this sneak peek out to her so that she can see how well he did. i am so excited that i get to see this little guy and his family for the rest of the year:)

Little Miss Mar is already 6 months! And isn’t she gorgeous. The whole family is gorgeous so she certainly comes by it honestly:) This little one was cutting some teeth at our session at the beginning of August and was VERY upset. We got a few that day especially with the older children but then I had them come back to get a few more of the little one to show some of the milestones and show how smiley she is:)

I recently travelled up to Edmonton to meet this little guy. His mom is one of my best friends. We have known each other since elementary school (along with our other girlfriend in the previous post) and we have all been through so much together. She is also my son’s godmother and SPOILS both of my children rotten. I am so excited to now get to do the same for her little one. This little guy who amazingly was supposed to be born on my son’s birthday (at the end of June) decided to make his grand entrance 6 weeks early. So after a little stint in the NICU, charming all of the nurses, I finally got to meet him. He is an absolute doll and definitely charmed me as well:) He is so very lucky to be part of this amazing family (and by all of the smiles that he flashed me, I think he knows it too). His parents are two of the kindest, most grounded, intelligent and loving people I know. He is such a fortunate little man.

You have seen this client many times (I think that we determined that this is the 9th session in 4 years) and this time we were shooting the little ones 6 month pictures. We got a bunch of family pictures and then broke down to get the baby roll pictures, the sitting up, grabbing of toes and, of course, the drool:) And we cannot forget big sister who is an absolute joy to work with. I love how she is trying to escape from dad’s lips this time;) Also love the look on her face as she was trying to save her hair from the grasp of her little sister.

Spring must be in the air as I have had a ton of newborns lately:) I have been behind with sharing and I apologize and will try to get back to regular posting as of next week. I did not want to end the week without sharing a few of this adorable little guy and his sweet sister:) I have had the opportunity of working with the girls of this family in the past but it was the first time meeting the boys. It was such a pleasure working with them. We caught some awesome moments. As I get through more of their images, I will have to share some of the little girl breakin’ down to Bieber! Adorable! I had to post a little sneak peek of this gorgeous little one who has her own Twitter hashtag (#babymar):) It was such a pleasure to work with Alderman John Mar and his family and I am looking forward to the next two sessions with them this year. I promise to share more of the whole family soon.

You have seen them before and you will see them again. This another one of my Watch Me Grow families (the one that I have termed Calgary Ink). There is not any ink this session as Dad has not yet had his new art completed for their new daughter. Next time though:) This time, the little one is 7 months old and adorable! She decided to shake things up a bit by not napping prior to the session so she was pretty tired at first. We let her have a little cat nap her and she woke up to give me all of the things that you want to capture at this age – rolls, dimply hands, drool, sitting up, toes grabbing/eating, smiles, and big curious eyes! LOVE IT! And not to forget big sister…she and Dad have always had a special bond. They were showing me just one of their tricks that they can do and mom can’t…the evil eye. I wonder if the little one will be able to do this trick? H and S, there are a bunch more to come.

I have had a couple of clients ask about their blog pictures…I should have a few more up this week:)

I am so excited to begin another year (Watch Me Grow package) with this family. You have seen them many times on my blog and in my galleries. I will have to add a few of these new ones to my galleries:) This is the first of 5 shoots that we will be doing with this family over the course of this year to coincide with what we did for big sister. I have had the pleasure of working with this family of 4 over the last couple of years. This year they had a new addition for me to meet!
