About Jody

Hello and welcome to my blog.  I am a portrait photographer in Calgary, Alberta specializing in maternity, newborn, baby, child and family photography.  I offer both studio and location (natural light) options for clients.  My style has been characterized as real.simple.clean.fun and I strive to capture the personalities of your little ones as well as document your family connections.  The centrally located studio showcases beautiful examples of how we can turn these images into fine art pieces to decorate your homes with the ones you love.  Thanks for stopping by and for your feedback!

Movin’

So I have determined that we are not as minimalist as it may have appeared (and as I thought that we were, for that matter!)!!  It seems that we have been able to jam a lot of stuff into one house!!  So much stuff that I have now been able to fill a bit larger...

Tots???

Tot Shots diversifying to engagement sessions?  Nope, this is just for fun (I really do LOVE my job)!!!  This is my cousin and her finance (misspelling a long story).  I have been wanting to get out and shoot an engagement session for them since February but needless to say, it has been a bit busy...

Follow up

So I dropped in on a friend again (with camera) to meet her new addition.  I had to put up a few of my favourites for her.  Isn't she gorgeous!!  She looks like big sister so much in one of the pics.  She sleeps with her arms up – so we had to capture that....

Kira’s Day

I was fortunate to be involved in a charity event (www.kirasday.org) this past weekend.  My donation was a bit of a last minute silent auction entry due to all that has been going on here and things slipping my mind.  I knew that it was a cause I wanted to support and fortunately one of...

Sneak peek

fastest session that I have ever had – okay, I work with children, there have been quicker.  We had a very limited time before the rain was back.  In addition, it was freezing, especially for the grandparents...

Efficient week

Although I started out the week with a bit of panic, I have been extremely efficient this week.  It could partially be because I made a point to get a bunch of running around done this week since my car was in for overdue maintenanceand I had my husband's Smartcar.  After just hearing on the news...

Good choice!!

I am so happy I chose the new lens over a dress!  Look how narrow that depth of field is – WOW!!  Now, had the choice been a pair of jeans, it would be have been much tougher – LOVE my jeans!!!  Can't wait to try the lens in my next sessions!  I am getting...
